It will be interesting to see how Division II success transfer to today's Division I environment. No idea how NIL and the transfer portal impact Division II, but it is crazy these days in Division I.

Coaching yes. Getting and keeping players is now more of a challenge. I suppose he will get the most out of what he has on the roster.

Drake clearly needs transfers. This process doesn't happen overnight, but I have faith that coach McCollum and his (yet to be announced) coaching staff is up to the task. Going forward, I don't see recruiting high schoolers as a problem.

Highschoolers are now the "easy" part. Even highschoolers are aware of NIL. Even if you find a hidden gem and coach em up, good chance they transfer to a thought to be better program or more NIL money. Being a successful coach as measured by wins and losses just seems to get harder and harder. It will be interesting to see how it shakes out over the next decade.

Being a successful coach as measured by wins and losses just seems to get harder and harder. And if you're outside the Big Ten, Big 12, SEC, ACC, or Big East - and you have a successful coach - how do you keep him? It's hard for a Drake to compete against the higher salaries, bigger NIL money, and scheduling advantages of the so-called power conferences. TV has rigged the game. Ok. I'll stop ranting now.
