I continue to monitor any news of football at Xavier. Apparently, the Board of Trustees are rumored to announce on May 5th that the school will open an osteopathic school of medicine in the future. Don’t know the veracity of this rumor; in any case, it would be highly unlikely that anything about football would be announced.
Not sure why the prior Xavier thread was locked for comment. I am not aware of any PFL discussions that might involve Xavier but I am hopeful that it can still happen.

The voting period had an expiration date. That thread is not locked from comments, however.
Edit: I have access to everything, so I don't really know what was available. It's all unlocked now.

Thanks, LD! For some reason, I was unable to post under that thread. Nonetheless, I still hope that Xavier revives football and joins the Pioneer League. I check the student paper for comments. Nothing in the latest edition but an issue or two back, one of its writers expressed opposition to the proposal. I guess that should be expected as college papers generally veer left with editorialists not being in favor of non-academic athletic endeavors. However, if the school sees this has a way to increase enrollment in the face of a dwindling number of college-aged students then the proposal might gain legs. Xavier’s basketball team completed a very successful year but following all the portal transfers with NIL monies has soured me on the mercenary nature of big time college athletics. Rarely is the concern for an education and a degree discussed. The PFL and lower division schools offer a truer picture of what college sports should really be about.
