In an article I accessed today on Twitter (but unable to copy here due to the paper’s policy), Xavier AD Greg Christopher indicated that Xavier football is seen as a way to increase enrollment. A new stadium would be needed ($20 million dollars) and they are talking with donors. A decision should be known by year’s end. A new stadium would not be built at the site of the old one. He says it is a “definite maybe”. From his comments, it seems that the stadium funding is the key as all his other comments about football, the PFL seem very favorable.

Mr. Christopher (hopefully) would not be talking about this if he didn't have some donors he could squeeze. Any wealthy football alumni out there?

Well, I am a retired career prosecutor. Enjoyed my work; pay was decent as were the benefits. A good living but not wealth producing. I imagine the squeeze might include non-alums in the area. An awful lot of lower Cintas Center seats seemed to have been purchased by people who were not real Xavier basketball fans who had extra cash to throw around. Seems that way as those seats were always filled during high profile games by the other school’s fans. I had never seen so much red as I did when Indiana played at Cintas this past year. That observation is true even through all the games against cross-town rival Cincinnati which also wears red.

According to Dave Chappelle, "Ohio" is a Native American word meaning "Land of Poor White People."

Chappelle’s observation is enough to give us Ohioans a buckeye…and I am not an OSU fan.
