...I'm mystified why Western Illinois doesn't move to the OVC...They would instantly escape the choke hold their football team is in...and they would be sending winter sports teams to play at Eastern Illinois, Lindenwood, SEMO, and SIU-Edwardsville - instead of the Dakotas. Hey, this only took four days. That's service! Link: Leathernecks to OVC for all sports.

Bellarmine may be only minutes away from Indiana; however, the school is technically located in in a Southern state.
Yes, I admit that this comment is strange, coming in 2023 from an alum of a "Missouri Valley Conference" school.

(ignoring Notre Dame and Detroit) There appear to be eight Catholic D-I schools in the Midwest. I wonder what TV revenue would be like for them in their own conference, compared to Big East money.

Mr. Brown says he knows of many D-I conferences that are looking for new members. I wonder which mid-major basketball conferences are on his list.
I would think some of them could attract not only D-II move-ups, but also existing D-I schools. For example, I'm mystified why Western Illinois doesn't move to the OVC...They would instantly escape the choke hold their football team is in...and they would be sending winter sports teams to play at Eastern Illinois, Lindenwood, SEMO, and SIU-Edwardsville - instead of the Dakotas.

The D1 gambit is not, at its core, about wearing out its welcome in the MIAC. It’s about UST’s desire to become a national Catholic educational brand, and having a place in the most visible NCAA athletics tier is a pathway to it. Greater visibility will attract more students from outside Minnesota.
(UST Vice President) Vangsgard says, high school graduation numbers in Minnesota are declining, with fewer graduates going on to college. “Demographics are running against all colleges and universities in the state,” Vangsgard says. That shrinking pool means UST and every other Minnesota institution must draw from elsewhere to fill future freshman classes.Link: Extra Points/Matt Brown

He went #25 overall, to the Bills. Couldn't have worked out much better for him.
He may help the Bills bust the Smoking Man curse.

According to Dave Chappelle, "Ohio" is a Native American word meaning "Land of Poor White People."

Mr. Christopher (hopefully) would not be talking about this if he didn't have some donors he could squeeze. Any wealthy football alumni out there?

Trivia answer...
John Outland started the Kansas Relays in 1923, two decades after he was the head football coach at KU. The story is similar to that of the Drake Relays, which dates from 1910 and was created by football coach John Griffith.
Outland may be the only person to ever play for both "Penn"s: (Quaker) Penn College* in Iowa...and (faux Quaker) University of Pennsylvania.
* - now William Penn University

The voting period had an expiration date. That thread is not locked from comments, however.
Edit: I have access to everything, so I don't really know what was available. It's all unlocked now.

The San Diego newspaper identified Moore as a D-III coach. Sad to see that F-Troop is still covering the PFL.

Impressive hire, and worth the wait! I see that he is originally from Long Island...played LB at Oklahoma, SF 49ers, and (briefly) for the San Diego Chargers. Mines was the runner-up in D-II last season.
